Cup Love

At the moment i am sitting in front of my pink laptop drinking coffee out of my pink and white playboy mug. This is definitely my morning ritual in Malta. Check mails while drinking coffee. The thing is it needs to be a cute mug otherwise it just doesnt feel right...

I have a total obsession with pretty coffee mugs. They just make me feel all warm inside! (and not just from the coffee!)

Back in Cape Town i also have my favorite coffee cups and i miss them dearly! They are cute stackables (shown above) that my boyfriend bought for me with other goodies one valentines day.
They are the perfect size for having coffee (otherwise i leave a bit at the bottom of the cup that drives my boyfriend mad) and they make me smile every time i see them in the kitchen.
Next on my list for cute things to buy is actually a tea pot and two pretty tea cups and saucers.

Do you have a favorite mug or cup?

Inglot Haul

I picked up some foundation (without spf for night time) under eye concealer and face primer. They all look pretty small but because you only need to use a tiny amount It works out quite well. So far i like all the products. I have been wearing all three since about 1 today and my face isnt oily and my foundation still looks exactly like it did when i applied it. :)

(people seem to love the primer - Check out makeup alley reviews)

Reviews to come! :)

Twitter Question - Online Gift Shopping

Yesterday i asked a question on twitter - Who buys gifts online?
Here are two of the replies i got

I was a major sceptic of online buying about two years ago. I didnt really want to give someone money and then hope they send my item. Since then i have had a major change in opinion though. When i moved to Malta loads of things were difficult to find so i had to turn to online shopping and when i did oh boy was it addictive!

While its one thing buying for yourself online its quite another thing buying gifts. Now that the silly season is here i can see why lots of people would buy online. I still love going to the shops and looking at everything and seeing all the pretty Christmas decorations etc but sometimes you dont get what you need in the shops, you might not have time to stand in crazy ques and a lot of the time online gifts come wrapped with a card an everything! (haha sometimes i am that lazy!)

There are probably two main places i buy gifts from online and thats ebay and etsy. Ebay because of all the bargains and variety and etsy because of the uniqueness of the items!

Where do you shop for gifts online?

I feel like...

...having a croissant and some good filter coffee. The thing is i am way to lazy to go out and buy croissant around the corner when its so cold and early! Cocopops and gold blend it is...

What do you crave for in the mornings (and dont say muesli, i know you are lying! lol)

Retouched!

These days everything gets retouched and we know it (even though men sometimes dont! lol) I just did this quick example of what i mean.

Now what i want to know is do you think pictures should be photoshopped because its necessary to sell magazines, beauty products etc or do you think we should see it as it is?

Hit or Miss

Ok so the other day while out shopping my boyfriend saw this leopard print robe at peacocks. He thought it was funny because i like my prints and he said i could be like a female high hefner. I laughed and said whatever.

My point is its cute for inside and not so cute for outside... So this Roxy chick (apparently from The City, i dont know and dont really care) looks in my opinion like she is wearing that robe. With some weirdo pj's and high heels. Like with high waisted shorts and harem pants i am not i repeat NOT a fan of long jumpsuits. They look like saggy freaky clown type overhauls.
Some people (moslty Kim Kardashian lol) can pull them of. Me? Not so much...

Do you think a robe and overhauls is a hit or a sure miss?

Flower Power!

Last week i was very sick but when i received this beautiful headband in the post it brightened up my whole day!
Elisa from New Pollution Designs sent it to me after i commented how much i loved it when she wore it on one of her youtube videos.
It came in a sturdy box with tissue paper and it was wrapped protectively so it got to me safe and sound! I adore headbands and this one is just so pretty! It has these sparkly pink beads in the middle and a bow and is amazingly well made (all by hand!!!!)
The back of the flower is one of my favorite parts because of the detail. When you buy something from a shop they might slack where people cant see but her flowers have a pattern at the back and a heart with her logo on it. To me that is just such a nice touch and something that definitely will make you want to buy more.

Etsy cuteness - AJ Couture Jewelry

The thing that first caught my eye when looking at AJ Couture Jewelry's etsy shop was all the bright colors! The jewelry is so pretty it actually looks edible and you know how much i like pretty things!

With names like Jellybean cha cha ring , Rockstar earrings , Raspberry sky earrings and Rainbow sorbet necklace how can you not want to wear these little treasures!

Amanda also has loads has loads of specials going on and the jewelry is wrapped and tied with a ribbon so it makes a perfect gift!

The gemstones used are also the best to ensure great quality items!

I asked Amanda a few questions and here is what she had to say.

Tell us a little about yourself and your shop:

My whole life I have been an artist, needing an outlet for my creativity! Growing up it was a regular past time for me to do arts and crafts! I have a Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design, and I have always wanted to have my own business. I'm a down to earth girl, very genuine. I'm extremely blunt, no sugar coating from me. I'm overly creative...I can do anything and everything artistic. I love working out and going out with friends. Every woman is a unique individual and I think that her jewelry should be just as unique as she is. To me jewelry is not just an accessory but more a work of art, a reflex ion of who you are. I currently live in Georgia with my sexy, adorable boyfriend of 5 years, Dave, and our two year old Pomeranian doggies, Chloe and Bear.

Describe yourself in three words:

Creative. Blunt. Genuine.

What inspired you to open an Etsy shop?:

A short while ago, I made a necklace for myself then people kept commenting and asking about it! This is how aj couture jewelry was born! When I made my first piece of jewelry back in December 2008, I got such rave reviews. I became interested in jewelry and beads, so I started going to trade shows every month or so. I heard about Etsy from some of the vendors that I met at the shows. Curious, I went on Etsy to see what is was all about. I did a little research and decided that I would give it a try! I’m glad I did, it’s now my full time job! I have gotten over 900 sales in my two aj couture shops combined in less than 6 months!

What are some of your goals for the future?:

My boyfriend is working on my website www.ajcouture.us. Once that is complete, I would like to focus on selling more on there. The goal is to make my Etsy shops obsolete. Since I also have a BS in Apparel Design and Fashion Merchandising, I would eventually like to start my own clothing line. In addition, once the economy has recovered I would like to open my own boutique. I currently carry my aj couture jewelry at several boutiques in the Atlanta area.

Of all the things you've ever created, what do you think of as your crowning achievement?:

Several months ago, I made my Chalcedony Rainbow Sweets Charm Bracelet. After I took several hours to complete it, I went to Publix to get some groceries. I always like to wear new jewelry designs out and about. I had a lady stop me to ask about it, she ended up purchasing the bracelet right there! It was nice to sell it so quickly, plus I had extra grocery money!

What is your favorite "superficial item" (could be a favorite lipstick or pretty shoes etc):

Purses…you can NEVER have too many purses! Or too many gemstone beads!

Whats your favorite item from her store?

7 Years

Thanks for my flowers baba :)

Myself and my man have been seeing each other for 7 years today! I still remember that day so clearly. He asked me if i wanted to be more than just friends and i asked him what he meant!

This is
actually the first anniversary that i have been sick so i am not sure what we will be doing later (watching romantic movies prob!) but i did get a surprise a while ago.
I heard the front door opening while i was lying on the couch watching mtv and wallowing in self pity and he came in looking all sexy in his work suit carrying a bunch of flowers for me. We usually dont really do pressies on anniversaries but he always gets me something anyway :P

The reason
why flowers is such a big deal for me is that i miss them loads. Back in South Africa you are be able to get fresh flowers in almost every grocery store and they werent to expensive either. Here flowers are not that available and they are super expensive (i think they all need to be imported) so i havent got flowers since 2 December 2008. Crazy right!
When we move back to SA i will always have a bunch of fresh flowers in the house!

When was the last time you got flowers?

Review - Batiste Dry Shampoo

All i can say about batiste dry shampoo is woweeeeeeeeeeee! I really love this product and i didnt think i would. I am sooooo obsessed with washing my hair (even though its bad to wash it all the time) so i never thought i would like something that makes me wash it less.
I have loads of hair so washing my hair everyday is quite silly just because i use so much products and a lot of my time...

There are so many pro's and no cons that i can think of when using this product.

Its super easy to use
It smells good (i got tropical but you also get blush and original)
It actually does exactly what it says on the can
There is no product build up
It lasts!

Who else loves batiste or other dry shampoo's?
